Drug addiction remains one of the most serious problems of modern society. Despite efforts to reduce drug use, the problem remains relevant and requires constant attention. Visual campaigns such as posters play an important role in attracting attention and raising awareness about the consequences of drug use. The Matrix films have cult status and are widely recognised around the world. The use of familiar visual elements and symbols from ‘The Matrix’ makes the poster more recognisable and attracts the attention of a wide audience. The theme of ‘The Matrix’ with its emphasis on the choice between reality and illusion is ideal for conveying an anti-drug message. Viewers can draw parallels between the world of illusion created by drugs and the reality they hide.
Such posters can be used in educational and prevention programmes aimed at reducing drug use among young people. Visual materials help to better convey information and make educational programmes more effective. Adolescents and young people who see such posters can reflect on their choices and consequences, which contributes to the prevention of drug dependence. The double drug addiction poster with the Matrix theme is relevant because it combines strong visual impact, cultural relevance and psychological depth. It helps to draw attention to the problem of drug addiction, raises awareness and supports prevention programmes aimed at reducing drug use and helping addicts.
Each poster has a day and night view, in daylight the poster has a more neutral look where the subtext is not as obvious. In the night view, the subject matter is straightforward and obvious.
In addition to the posters, a quiz app has been developed to help you learn more about the effects of addiction and also answer more philosophical questions related to the matrix and addiction to give yourself a reflection on the topic
The realisation of the idea in the physical poster was made by silkscreen technique on canvas with acrylic paints, the night view of the poster is made with neon colours which are not visible in daylight, which enhances the effect in the night view of the poster.
